Dave was born to parents David and Veronica Cousins on Jan. 2, 1964, in Kingston, Jamaica. At an early age Dave was recognized for his natural brilliance and innate gift for mathematics. He was an honor student at Kingston College in Jamaica, and a celebrated athlete. Dave loved soccer and was a recipient of many trophies during his days at Kingston College and West Roxbury High School in Boston, MA. He also played for several different soccer leagues during and after college.
His love for math led him to pursue a career in banking, which later led to his position as a lead employee in the Banks accounting Department. He also served as a National Guard in the US military at this time. Dave had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. This entrepreneurial spirit led him to move forward from the banking industry, and pursue his passion of starting his own business. His love for driving and his dream of owning his own Luxury Car Service, led him to work as a personal driver for a luxury car service until the time of his illness.
Dave’s family and friends will remember him for his genuine love, unwavering reliability, incredible dedication, loyal friendship, and the laughter he always shared. His community that he shared bible scriptures with every day, at the crack of dawn, was his way of spreading what he felt was “the truth.” His community is sadly feeling the loss of their devoted messenger who delivered the words they lived for and awoke to for the past 2 years.
Dave is survived by his wife Paulette Cousins; daughter Sherine; sons Sean, Dave Jr. and Ezekiel Cousins; granddaughters Naddiah Graham, A’lani Cousins, and grandson Brycson Jackson; mother Veronica Cousins; maternal grandmother Muriel Samuels; brothers Leroy, Peter, Christopher and Kevin Cousins. Sisters Angella Demontegnac, Annmarie Cousins, Marlene Walcott, Felicia Bradley and Diane Cousins; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters–in laws, god daughters and friends throughout the United States, Jamaica and other parts of the world. He will be missed by all.
