Just like his favorite Western movie character, "Shane", Daniel Waterhouse did finally ride off into the distance after doing much good in our world with every person he encountered. His smile lit up a room and his kind eyes filled you with peace and reminded you that everything was indeed going to be alright.
Daniel Waterhouse, 82, of Orlando, FL, passed away July 2, 2023.
He was born in New Auburn, Wisconsin on July 31, 1940.
Daniel Waterhouse graduated from Winside High School in Winside, Nebraska, in 1958 and received a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida in 1974 (which at the time was known as Florida Technological University).
He was married to Nancy Waterhouse on June 15, 1963, in El Paso, Texas.
Daniel Waterhouse had a career in Electrical Engineering with the United States Department of Defense at White Sands Missile Range, the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Sherikon, and Anteon.
He was a Life Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and had a passion for biking, racquetball, playing chess, listening to music, visiting Disney theme parks, watching sci-fi movies such as Star Wars and Disney's Captain EO, old Westerns like "Shane" and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", adventure movies like "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Back to the Future", and "Gremlins", and each year, watching his favorite Christmas movie, "The Bishop's Wife".
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Waterhouse, his daughter, Debbie Hall, his grandchildren, Océane Boulais, Noctem Hall, and Sage Hall, and his brother, William Waterhouse.
An inurnment service for Daniel will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
