Charles E. Bosserman was born October 25, 1922, in Newport, PA. He died April 16, 2011, in Orlando, Florida. He was a true entrepreneur. Educated at Lehigh University, and after serving in the US Army in Adak, Alaska, he graduated from The Harvard Business School in 1948. While in Alaska he met his wife of 65 years - "Willie." They moved to Orlando in 1949. He worked in the LP gas business, sold semi trucks and trailers, started a “hire a handy man” business, he and his brother Philip owned a plant nursery in Apopka, and then he found the real estate business. He worked for Florida Ranch Lands for 11 years, where he was involved in the purchase of the Walt Disney World property. In 1972 he founded First Realty Advisors and worked in real estate until his death.
He loved tennis and golf and played at The Country Club of Orlando and at Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, NC, where for 30 years, he and Willie spent their summers golfing and playing bridge with their many friends. When he was not playing, he was studying the stock market and trying to outsmart Wall Street.
He was a generous man who supported many local organizations and was a great provider for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife “Willie” and his sons Charles E. Bosserman, III of Atlanta, GA and Richard E. Bosserman of Orlando; his daughters-in-law Mary Walden Bosserman of Atlanta and Nancy Harris Bosserman of Orlando; and his grandchildren William, Kathleen, Catherine, and Brooke. He is predeceased by his infant daughter Carol Ann and his son Kenneth E. Bosserman.
He was a Christian and is with God in Heaven. May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in his memory.
A private family service at the graveside will be held with Pastor Alex Clattenburg officiating.
