Bennie Paul Krazit - 86, of Orlando, was surrounded by his loving wife and immediate family when he went peacefully to Heaven on May 12, 2013 after a courageous 5 year battle with Parkinson. Bennie was born, June 20, 1926 in Pinconning, Michigan, youngest son of 14 children born to Frank and Agnes Krazit (Fister) who came to the U.S from Austria.
Bennie moved with his family to Florida at age 2 and spent the next 43 years in Ocala, FL. He grew up with 11 brothers and sisters, working on the family dairy farm, he served in the U. S. Navy from ‘44-’46 during WWII, drove for Greyhound Bus Lines, and worked 34 ½ years for Florida Power Corp. (Duke Energy) before retiring in 1988 in Orlando.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise; daughters Brenda Gonzalez (Wally) of Louisville, KY, Beckie Findlay (Alan) of Orlando, and son, Dave Krazit (Debbie) of Gotha, FL; grandchildren Meri Lou Mattingly (Keith) of Louisville, KY, Lori Ann Krieger (Jeremy) of Louisville, KY, Cindy Lea Gonzalez of Merritt Island, Fla., Charlie Gonzalez of Louisville, KY, Stephanie Krazit of Gotha, FL, Danny Krazit of Gotha, FL; great grandchildren, MaKale Slusher, Bradley Krieger, Ava Lou and Autumn Mattingly, sister Betty Harvey (Ed) of Seminole, Fla.; 28 nieces and nephews; 48 great nieces and nephews; and 41 great, great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, FL 34734, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 5125 Apopka-Vineland Rd., Orlando, FL 32819 on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 11am.
Interment will follow at Dr. Phillips Cemetery, 7900 Apopka-Vineland Rd., Orlando, FL 32819.
In lieu of flowers, family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Bennie’s name be directed to Florida Hospital Foundation-Parkinson’s Outreach Center, 1685 Lee Rd. Ste. 110, Winter Park, FL 32789.
