Barbara (Barby) Kay Brown, went home to be with the Lord and her mom, dad, and two brothers on Thursday February 7, 2013. She had a weak heart and all odds were against her but, she still continued to fight her battle for over a month before finally succumbing to heart failure. She was born on August 29, 1940 in Laurium, Michigan where she loved to ice skate and make pasties. She then moved to Orlando, Florida where she was employed by 7-Eleven Inc. for thirty five years. She was a dedicated employee who loved her job and ran circles around her other co-workers. She was a loving wife to George Brown and been together for forty years. She was also a wonderful mother and best friend to two daughters, Rhonda K. Erickson (Rob) and Linda K. Rowe (Mike) and one son Michael I. Ellis (Amber). She was a grandmother to nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Nicole,Ryan, Leonna, Matthew, Tony, Breonna, Coby and Brandon; five great grandchildren Annolynne, Josh, Kingston,Gabriella and Jacob. Our family knows one thing for sure, that she loved her grandchildren. They were her little angels and buddies. She loved going to baseball games and had a passion for yard sales. She will be missed but always remembered and loved by all. A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 12, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Winter Garden Cemetery in Winter Garden, Florida.Following the committal service at Winter Garden Cemetery a reception will be held at Linda, her daughter's home. Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
