Mr. William Leslie Budd of Phoenix, Arizona passed away January 14, 2024 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born April 10, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert and Roberta (Zell) Budd. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Malis, Maureen Budd, and Shirley Budd.
William is survived by his wife, Laura Budd; daughters, Suzanna (Richard) York; Rebecca (David) Emmons, and Victoria Budd; sister Mary Murph, and brother Robert Budd. He is also survived by three grandchildren, his extended family, and many friends.
William led a life of travel and love. His travels started when he joined the Army during the Vietnam era. He was always ready for adventure, and his goal was to visit 100 Mormon temples and managed to visit 97 before his passing. Along the way, he became fluent in Russian, Spanish, and German. He used those skills as he worked in the Phoenix, Dallas, and Mesa temples. He also took pride in being a Boy Scout Leader.
William had a chronic case of wanderlust and was always ready for a good adventure. His greatest adventure was the life he had with Laura Lee Budd. They were married for 46 years and raised three daughters together. He always wanted to make sure they knew how proud he was of them. William was also known for his wicked since of humor and ability and readiness to crack jokes. His passing will forever change our lives, but his spirit will live on in our hearts.
A visitation will be held at 10:00am, Sunday, January 27 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Avondale, Arizona). The funeral service will begin at 11:00am
