Wayne L. Dowdey, 96, of Litchfield Park, Arizona passed away March 4, 2011. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on Mar. 17, 1915 to Frank and Perry Dowdey.
Wayne grew up in Alabama and was married to Peg McKewen for 55 years. She preceeded him in death. He joined the Eimco Corp. in 1945 and managed Eimco’s Birmingham office. He was later moved to Salt Lake city where he became sales manager, Vice President and later President of Eimco. When Eimco was purchased by Envirotech Corporation, Wayne became Executive Vice President of Envirotech. He also served a term as President of the SME division of AIME. He built a home in Litchfield Park in 1976 and retired there in 1983.
Wayne is survived by his daughter Sandra (Jim) Larsen of Salt Lake City, his brother Charles of Birmingham, Alabama, grandchildren Suzanne Larsen and Michelle Candelaria, and great grandchildren Abby and Dylan Candelaria . Graveside services will be held in Birmingham at a later date.
