Sgt. Donald Stacy Staff

Staff Sgt. Donald V. Stacy, 23, of Avondale, Ariz.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died June 28 in Kandahar, Afghanistan.  He was born July 10, 1987 in Phoenix, AZ to Felicia Denise Escobedo (then Stacy) and Donald Lee Stacy II.

SSGT Stacy was raised in Avondale, AZ.  He graduated from Agua Fria High School in 2005.  He enlisted in the United States Army right after graduation.  He served two tours in Iraq, previous to this, his third deployment in Afghanistan.

Donald is survived by his mother and step father Felicia Denise and Bernie Escobedo, his aunts Michelle, Sharon, Patsy, Linda, and Geneva, his uncles Vincent and Gilbert, his maternal grandmother Claudia Gonzales and his paternal grandparents Donald and Corine Stacy.  He was preceded in death by his father Donald Lee Stacy II.

A service was held for him July 2nd in Kandahar.  Visitation here in Arizona will take place Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Agua Fria Union High School Fulton Gym.  The service will begin at 11:00.  Burial with military honors and presentation will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ.
