Dear Family, I am sorry to hear of your loss, but rejoicing in knowing that Grant is eternally with the Lord. I went to church with Grant in Roseburg for a number of years and played softball with him as well. He was always friendly and upbeat and kind. I always appreciated his love for life. Blessings to you. I'm sure that Grant's testimony for the Lord will continue to have an impact for years to come. God Bless.

I'm truly sorry for the loss of Grant he was a great friend I knew from about age 13 yrs. I didn't know that Grant became a Christian, so I'm elated that I will be with him in eternity. Back when we kids I believed in God, but didn't really know Him. Grant was always such a nice guy to be around. We used to kid each other a lot at school and both of us enjoyed playing sports. Grant was a year behind me in school, but we both were the same age being born in the same month. At any rate, I want to give his family a heartfelt sorry for your loss. If ever there was a guy with a big heart who enjoyed a good laugh that was Grant. Looking forward to seeing you again my friend.

To the family of Grant Gausnell,

I am so sorry to hear of Grant's passing.  I went to junior high and high school in Roseburg with Grant.  I had not seen him since graduation in 1967 as I moved and lost touch with many people I graduated with.  However, I have thought of Grant often and wondered how he did in life.

There are two things I remember about Grant.  The first was when we were in the same Spanish class in the 9th grade.  The teacher, Mr. Padilla, wanted us to speak only Spanish and to do that we all needed to be called by our Spanish name.  I had to go by my middle name which is David.  When Grant's turn came the teacher said there wasn't a Spanish equivalent to Grand and asked what his middle name was.  When Grant said "Reuben"  I thought everyone in the room would die of laughter since it would be harder to turn Spanish than Grant.  I do not remember what Padilla finally said to call Grant, but it was not Grant or Reuben.  

The second thing I remember about Grant was how tough he was.  He was one of the most competitive and toughest football players I had the opportunity to play with in junior high and watch in high school.  He was tough but always fair.

I am truly sorry for your loss.  I will continue to think of Grant.
