Rosemary “Mimi/TPR” Antoinette Dolan, age 72, passed away Thursday February 15, 2024 at her home in Buckeye Arizona ,surrounded by her family. Rosemary was born and raised in Milwaukee,Wisconsin to the late Albert and Sandy (Seidita) Spano. She resided there with her husband James Dolan until their retirement to Arizona in 2015. Rosemary attended the University of Minnesota where she became an X-Ray Technologist. Upon graduation, she moved back to Milwaukee where she worked at St. Michael’s and St. Joseph’ Hospitals. While working at St. Joseph’s Hospital she met the love of her life, James Dolan, a young doctor from Ireland who had emigrated to the United States to begin his medical career. They were fortunate to have shared 48 years of marriage together. Rosemary was a devoted and loving mother to her 3 sons. She would be routinely found on the sidelines cheering on her boys and then entertaining their friends to a home cooked dinner afterwards. Rosemary was an avid tennis player and runner. She earned the nickname T.P.R. which stood for Tennis Pro Ro, which evolved into Travel Pro Ro. She enjoyed traveling and was known for her “Safety Protocols" with her family and friends, which always brought laughs and smiles. It was her role as Mother and Grandmother (Mimi) from which she drew her greatest pleasure and has left her legacy. Rosemary would spend as much time as possible back in Wisconsin to be with her Grandchildren Eily Rose and Aoife James-whom she loved to “ the moon and back”. Her grandchildren were her best medicine during her years long battle with ovarian cancer.
Rosemary is survived by her beloved husband, James D. Dolan M.D., and her three sons James (Györgyi) Dolan, Brendan ( Jennie) Dolan, and Anthony (Mariia) Dolan. Her siblings: Frances (Donald) Pratt, Peter (Beth) Spano, Josephine (James) Duncan, and Vito (Kelli) Spano. Her nieces: Erica (Andrew) Doyle and Allison Pratt. Her nephews: Zachary and Dominick Spano. Her great nephews: Lochlan and Jack Doyle. A private service for family will be held in Sicily. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Association or Mayo Clinic.
