Dr. Ronald J. Wilner passed away at age 83 on August 14, 2015 in Litchfield Park, AZ. Born in Johnstown, PA, he grew up in Pittsburgh, PA with a strong work ethic and values that allowed him to attain the skills and wisdom that endeared him to so many people.
After a stint in the Army and College, he attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland. He chose Santa Fe because he fell in love with the mountains and the culture. For over 45 years he served the Santa Fe community and beyond as a respectful and trusted Podiatrist and public servant.
Ron was past president of the NM Podiatric Medical Association, Board Member of the NM Board of Podiatry, National Delegate to the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and a nationally recognized speaker on the Foot and Ankle.
Ron is survived by his wife, Elsie, brother Ken Wilner (wife Mitchiko) of Monroeville, PA, sons Joel Wilner, DPM (wife Kelly), of Santa Fe, Geoffrey (wife Laura) of Plantation, FL, daughter Felice Loleit (husband John) of Glendale, AZ and grandchildren Christopher, Julia, and Joshua.
Ron was a good and kind man with a passion for life. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Services will be held at 9:30 am at the Arizona National Cemetery in Phoenix on August 24th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation and Hospice of the Valley.
