Queen Esther Trotter, age 78 of Goodyear, AZ died June 23, 2018 in Avondale, AZ. She was born January 18, 1940 in Haynesville, LA to Clarence Birch and Esther Sneed. She was also the stepdaughter to Clifford Sneed, all who preceded her in death.
At an early age, Queen moved with her mother to Hamilton, OH. It was in Hamilton that she met Lorenzo A Trotter, Jr. They fell in love and were married on July 9, 1960. They were blessed with two children, Lorenzo A. Trotter, III and Belinda Trotter.
Queen worked at the Air Force/Army Exchange Service (AAFES) for 35 years where she worked her way up to Service Exchange Service. During her employment she deployed to the United Arab of Emirates, Bosnia, and Kuwait. During one of her deployments she met First Lady Laura Bush. She retired from AAFES in January 2005. After retirement she volunteered at the local school district.
Queen was a long-time member of the Luke Air Force Base Chapel Usher Board.
In her spare time Queen enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, volunteering at the church, and watching sports. Queen was known for her giving heart and she was always ready and willing to help others.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Lorenzo (Tammie) Trotter III and Belinda Trotter; her grandchildren, Lorenzo Trotter IV, Trey (Alicia) Trotter, Undell Franklin, Precious Richardson, and her great-granddaughter, Aliyah Franklin; sisters, Denise (Michael) Taylor, Bee (Samuel) Davis, and Phyllis (Wayne) Edwards; brothers, Clifford (Alice) Sneed, Jr. and Jeff (Missy) Sneed; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 28,2018 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. A funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 29, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
