Our beloved was cherished by his whole family.
He was a Dad, Papa, Grandpapa, Great-Grandpapa, and a Great, Great-Grandpapa.
On Sunday December 10th, 2023, his wife was holding him when he took his last breath and passed on to his eternal home.
Paul is survived by his wife Janis Lee Smith, and his 3 devoted children and their significant others. Teresa (Doug) Dunlap, Paul (Colleen) Smith, Christina (Dan) Marquart.
A very special Grandpapa to Brooke, James, Paige, Leah, Austin, Rileigh, Dane, Alexis and Kayla.
A Great-Grandpapa to Zane, Jadin, Mason, Alice, Atlas, Emery, Mac, and Linc.
And a Great, Great-Grandpapa to Hayvenn and Lainee.
He is also survived by his brother Terry H. (Sharon) Smith, brother-in-law Rick Winslow, and his nieces Susan and Carla, and many other nieces and nephews.
Paul is pre-deceased by his parents Reverand Terry L. Smith and Flora J. Smith. His sister Frankie J. Ballard and his brother Wayne L. Smith.
Paul and Janis were married in Glendale, Arizona on June 18th, 1960, by his father which was such an honor. They were married for 63 beautiful years.
They had a wonderful life together, house-boating on Lake Powell , camping on the beaches and in the woods, going on amazing cruises, and wonderful trips to the Pacific Coast and Oregon. He loved music and taught his kids to sing beautiful Gospel songs, which they sang in several churches and on local tv in Flagstaff.
Paul started working out for AZ Egg Co. as a truck driver in 1959 and as Shamrock Foods bought other companies, Paul stayed with them and ended up a Sales Manager for Northern AZ, retiring in 2003. He then enjoyed his time volunteering for the Buckeye Sheriffs Department for 4-5 years.
He proved many times to be a man of faith, honesty, integrity, and lived according to an honor code shared by the rarest of men.
Paul Simon Smith has left a legacy that will be cherished by his loved ones forever.
