Pastor Wesley Duane Smith

Pastor Wesley Duane Smith, age 63 of Tolleson, AZ died December 12, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born August 24, 1953 in McGehee, AR to Carl W. and Lillian Smith. He served in the US Army for 17 ½ years achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After leaving the military Wesley became an ordained pastor. He served churches in Washington, D.C. and Clarksville, TN before moving to Phoenix, AZ. In Phoenix, Wesley was the pastor at Casa Torre Fuerte and Grace Walk Church.

Pastor Smith is survived by his wife, Lydia Smith; daughters, Angela R. Harrel, Tiara B. Smith, Rosie Penn; sons, Isaiah W. Smith, Daniel Smith, BeeJay Hicks; mother, Lillian Smith; sisters, Debra Howard, Edna Jean Young, Regina Smith, Barbara Knuckls, Jacquelyn Smith, Vivian Ratliffe, Bishop Jacquelyn Johnson; brothers, Darren, Marvin, Darryl, and Walter S. Smith, Myron Fowler; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Grace Walk Church, 7840 W. Lower Buckeye Road, Phoenix, AZ 85043. Burial will be at 10:30 am, Monday, December 19, 2016 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. The family suggests that donations be made to his wife Lydia Smith.
