Sabira (Sally) Neice, affectionately known as “Toot” to many of her loved ones, reunited with her predeceased husband in heaven on June 3, 2017. Sally was born and raised in Hawaii, where she met and fell in love with her “One and Only Love” and “Love of Her Life” William (Bill) Neice, while he was stationed in Hawaii. Upon being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, Bill and Sally married and raised 5 wonderful children: Debby, David, Darla, Danny, and Diana in La Puente, California. Sally faithfully stood by Bill’s side as he worked by day, and went to college by night—eventually becoming a Corporate Accountant, and then a Law School Graduate. Bill practiced Law, while Sally worked to keep a safe, nurturing, loving home for her family. Bill would not have become the accomplished man that he was, without Sally’s love and support.
Toot’s entire life was dedicated to her husband and kids—she was so proud of the adults her children have become! She ferociously protected her children like a strong Mama Bear, although she was just a dainty little lady. Her kids all knew though—anybody that meant them harm better watch out—they did not want to be in Toot’s cross-hairs! She loved Debby’s bubbly, funny personality—always able to cheer people up! She respected Dave’s tremendous work ethic, and perseverance (just like his dad’s). Toot admired Darla’s kindness, and ability to care for her and see the good in people that crossed her path—this was a trait that Toot was not necessarily always good with. Danny was her little boy that could do no wrong. Even when he would sneak her car for a “joy ride” with little sister Di (while unlicensed and barely old enough to see over the steering wheel)—it must have been her fault for leaving the keys out when she was gone! And Di… little Di, whom we called “boots” (because she loved to wear Danny’s over-sized cowboy boots as a child). Toot loved the fight and feistiness that Di inherited from her father. Toot knew that there was NOBODY that was going to bully Di in this world—at least not without a fight!
Toot’s grandkids and in-laws were “the cherries” on top of her treasured immediate family. Sally is blessed with 11 grandchildren: Michael, Amber, Lexi, Brandon, Jake, Adam, Ashley, Bill, Zachary, Jacob, and Luke…. as well as 2 great grandchildren: Sofia and Nicole. Her additional blessings were 3 terrific son-in-laws: Steve Dewitt, Julio Casas, Chad Drecksel, and 2 loving daughter-in-laws: Laurie Neice and Diana Neice.
Services celebrating Toot’s life will take place on Saturday, June 10th at 1 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. Immediately following that, a reception will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The family invites all friends to join them in honoring their beloved Toot. If you desire to provide flowers or a gift, they could be sent to the family’s attention at Thompson’s Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be left at www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
