Meliton D. Fuentes, 59, of Avondale died June 27, 2011 at home. He was born April 16, 1952 in Mexicali, Mexico. Meliton was a truck driver and mechanic, as well as a boxing coach for Hemet P.A.L. Boxing Gym.
Meliton is preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Fuentes, brothers Rodrigo and Epifanio, and sisters Maria de la Luz and Maria Evangelina. He is survived by his sons Rafael Castro, Rodrigo Fuentes, and Raul Fuentes; daughter Fabiola I. Fuentes; sisters Yolanda, Amelia, Aurelia, Hilda, Teresa, Dolores, and Esmeralda; brothers Manual, Francisco, Mario and Hector; and parents Meliton and Josefa Fuentes. Meliton has 18 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, July 1st from 5-9 p.m. (with rosary at 7 p.m.) at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will be Saturday July 2 at 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
