Maria Louisa Gonzales

Maria Louisa Gonzales peacefully passed away on May 12, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born December 19, 1936 in Texas. She attended school in Texas, but began working at a young age in the fields. It was there she met the love of her life Manuel. They moved their family to Arizona in 1960. She began working in the food service department for Airline Training Center Arizona Inc. in 1975. She worked there for 20 years and retired in 1995. She was a lifelong and active prayer warrior at New Life Covenant Church in Avondale.

Maria is survived by her daughters: Irma and Albertina (Berta), 4 grandchildren: Erica, Angel, Scott Anthony and Manuel, and 9 great-grandchildren: Angelina, Christopher, Gabriel, Jacob, Xavier, Andrew, Jonathan, Dacen, and Laylah.

After her retirement, she enjoyed helping care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cheering them on at their sporting events. She was their number one fan. She also cheered on the Suns, Diamondbacks, and Cardinals. She loved tending to her beautiful garden and her 13 dogs. Everyone that knew her, knew her as a very strong, loving, and hard working woman.

She will be deeply missed by her family and her community. She was loved by all who knew her and she touched many lives. Her legacy and her spirit will live on in all of us. Rest in Paradise our beautiful flower.

A visitation, Celebration of Life will be held from 9am-10am, Friday, May 24th at New Life Covenant Church, 541 E Main St., Avondale, AZ 85323. A funeral service will begin at 10am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
