He was born June 21, 1933 in Florence, Colorado to Grant Morland Edwards and Blanche Cecil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Blanche and one daughter, Tammy Ann. He is survived by his wife Donna of 56 years and two daughters, Debra Jo Jones (Doug) of Tucson, AZ and Kristi Lynn Tudge (David) of Roanoke, VA., three grandchildren, Allie, Alexander and Zachary Jones, one brother Grant and one sister Patricia and several nieces and nephews.
Keith graduated in 1951 from Center High School. He was a member of the 1950 State Championship Basketball Team. He graduated from Colorado State College of Education where he was Honorable Mention All American on their Basketball Team, now known as Northern Colorado University in 1955. In 1956 he received his Masters Degree from Northern Colorado University.
He taught school and coached at Pierce High School and then moved to Lamar Junior College where he served as Athletic Director, taught and coached basketball and baseball for two years. He then returned to Center, Co and went into the wool marketing business with his Father.
Keith loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and snow mobile riding with family and friends. He also started the girls basketball program at Center High School. Keith was a member of the Center Methodist Church, Sponsor of DeMolay Boys, Masons, Mayor of the Town of Center and was appointed by the Governor to fill a vacancy for Saguache County Commissioner in 1974. He was then elected and served for 23 years as Saguache County Commissioner. In 1981 he served as President of the State Association of 63 counties.
Private family services will be held in September.
