Barbara Jean Burton

May 4, 1946 – January 14, 2017 Barbara was a loving and devoted wife of 27 years to Steve.  She loved and valued her family and friends.  She enjoyed keeping up with current events.  Barbara loved reading, playing games with husband and friends, and watching movies with her husband.

Barbara worked as an AT&T operator for 30 years. She and Steve loved to travel and they visited many areas of the southern United States.  They enjoyed taking cruises. Barbara was a loving friend to many and a very caring person, a great listener and a great humanitarian.  She especially loved animals,  and had a soft spot in her heart for horses and dogs.

Barbara Jean (Bledsoe) Burton was born on May 4, 1946 and passed away suddenly at age of 70 on January 14, 2017.  She is survived by her loving husband George (Steve) Burton, two sisters Marva Rhubottom and Janet Bledsoe Lacy, and a loving family including her brothers-in-law Ray Rhubottom and Steve Lacy, nieces Katie Anderson and her husband Umahl, and Jennifer Lacy, nephews Kirk and wife Jennifer Shankle, and Jeffrey Lacy, great nieces Amelia Shankle and Aliyah Anderson, and great nephews William Shankle and Michael Anderson.
