Bron Herrod

His early years were spent in Geraldine, Mt where he was introduced to flying from his Dad through his crop dusting business. This became a big part of his life. He went on to get his aviation license in commercial and airline transport in Billings, MT. Bron attended college in Little Rock, AR and then transferred to Texas A & M for Aeronautical Engineering. He returned to Billings, MT and flew for the Disney Family, operated a pilots training school, did charters and gave private lessons. Later he went into the family Airstream business in Lockwood, MT. He married Dana Schardein in 1971 and had 2 sons. Following his divorce, he married Sherry Stroppel Kirkness and acquired a step-son in 1984. She was his Arthur Murry Dance Instructor. They took many twirls on the dance floor.  In 1986 the family moved to Brookings, OR to help his father build a 65’ sail boat.  He got his real estate license and in 1993 moved to Stayton, OR and opened a Century 21 Real Estate office. Retired in 2012 and moved to Redmond, OR.  But, retirement was not all it was cracked up to be, so he went to work for a Locksmith and safe  business part time.  In 2019, they sold the home in Redmond, built and moved to Kuna, Id.  After 2 years he had had enough of the winters and moved to Buckeye, AZ.

Bron’s life carried him into a wide variety of businesses that taught him many skills and experiences including aviation, RV sales, asphalt equipment sales, real estate,

Bron enjoyed flying his computer simulator, playing golf, bicycling, fishing, was an avid reader, making bbq sauce and traveling with his wife, especially in their motorhome.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry, his sister Linda Diane Gunderman,  cousin Paul Herrod, his children, Christopher (Sara) Herrod, Nathan Herrod, Richard (Sabine) Kirkness, 10 brothers and sister in laws, 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and greats.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Buckeye Elks Lodge on October 15 at 11:00 AM in Buckeye, AZ.
