Eva Chavez

Eva Ruiz Chavez, 86, of Litchfield Park and formerly of Phoenix, AZ died October 3, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ.  She was born November 11, 1927.  Eva was a devoted wife, mother and the best “nana” one could ever wish for.  She loved to cook tortillas and tamales.  Any mariachi music would bring such joy to her heart.  It was her love for her family that completed her life, especially for her husband of 57 years, Jose.  They were completely devoted to loving and caring for each other.  Her legacy to enjoy life is instilled in her daughters and her grandchildren and so many others that are part of her extended family.  As she always said “Que Dios los bendiga” Gracias por todo!  She is survived by her husband Jose Manuel Chavez; daughters Liz Castellano (husband, Angel), Melba Miller (husband, Jerry), Gilda Johnson (husband, Tom); and five grandchildren, Thomas, Lauren, Evita, Alex and Adam.  Services will be held at 10:30 am with a gathering of family and friends at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S.
