Condolences and prayers for Marc’s Family and Friends. 
I was younger than Marc growing up in Houma, in “our” neighborhood block, but I remember him fondly.  Especially the softball games in the back field. He was kind, gentle, and giving.  From his tributes, he touched many lives on his life’s journey, and lived an amazing life. I’m sure his light will shine on.

I’m sorry for your loss, Alex. Your father was a great man who cared deeply about you and other people, whether they were a significant part of his life or not. I will never forget how he was there for me when I went on a “soul searching” drive across the country. He provided me with a place to stay as a break from my aimless wondering and offered advice that would ultimately help lead to the most transformative stage of my life. And when I got married he showed the same thoughtfulness. Although we are grateful for the gifts we received, he provided thoughtful words of wisdom that will remain with us for the rest of our lives, just as his memory will remain in our hearts. He was a man of character and he loved you very much. I hope you are as proud of the man he was as he was of the man you have become.

Dear Alex, Erika, Family and Friends

Marc truly made the world a better place through his kindness, love, and abundant generosity.
I met Marc at Alex and Erika's over Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. I will always remember thanking Marc for he and Val  to have raised such a fine young man in Alex, to which Marc immediately was thanking Maureen and me for raising such a fine young woman in Erika. Then we both sat smiling in the warm glow as two proud Dads seeing their adult children so happy together.
Alex, when you think of your Dad and Mom and everything that made them what they were, their memory lives on through you.

I remember the first time meeting Marc.  Valerie brought him to my parents home to introduce him to the family. Even the lazy Persian cat greeted him (an unexpected memory for many years after the meeting).  

Marc was always offering to help, including a long drive from Texas to Colorado to help me move in to a new town.   Memorable weekend.  

Marc was so good to Val  from the time they met to marriage to her battle with cancer.   He did so much.  Our family appreciated all he did and he will always be part of our family as a son and brother. 

Marc - you are,  and always will be remembered and missed.

Your Dad, my brother, was a wonderful father to you and a loving husband to your Mom. He provided well for his family and served his country long and faithfully. 

When your Dad was young, he looked out for his younger brothers. Where you saw one, you usually saw at least one other- riding a bike or playing games with his many childhood friends in the neighborhood.

Your Dad will be missed. My heart goes out to you on the loss now of both your parents.

Dear Alex, Erika, Family, and Friends,

I'm deeply sorry for the loss of Marc.
I'm very fortunate that I was able to meet Marc and spend some time with him over the last year and a half of traveling to Phoenix to visit Alex, Erika, and Marc.
We enjoyed some wine tasting together, which had been a passion he enjoyed. I am grateful for the chance to hear about his life and learn about his love for traveling, especially the trips to Idaho Falls and Oregon with his late wife, Val.  
I will remember the several family dinners shared with Marc at Alex and Erika's home and how he was always eager to help out in the kitchen, which is only a tiny example of his big, helping, and caring heart.
Marc raised an amazing Son, and it was clear that Alex was his pride and joy. 
He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. 

"Because those we love and lose are always connected by heartstrings into infinity.
May we let grateful memories survive and live on."

My deepest condolences to Alex and Marc's family and friends.   Marc was my parents' neighbor, but more than that he was truly an amazing friend.  He and Valerie were always so kind and open hearted.  He will be dearly missed and the memory of his smile and positive attitude that lit up any room will not he forgotten.

I am truly saddened at the passing of such a wonderful person, a good friend. As so often happens, life got in the way and I did not maintain good contact with Marc and that is what saddens me most.

We lived close by in adjacent neighborhoods. We went through school together, graduated high school together.  We hung out, laughed, had lots of good times and grew into young men together.  We both took routes that took into the U. S. Air Force.  It was Marc that drove me to the bus station  that took me to basic training.  As fortune would have it, I got stationed at an AF base in Duluth, MN where Marc’s future wife, Valerie, worked. Almost four years later, Valerie moved to a new position away from Minnesota at another AF base, where fate led her to meet Marc. The rest is their story.  We did have a few really nice talks in years after Valerie passed away that I will treasure. 

Rest in peace my friend.  Enjoy the heavenly rewards that have been promised by our Father.

Alex and all the David family, my hearts goes out to all of you!  Been knowing Marc since the first grade at Holy Rosary and all the way through to our graduation in 1974.  Marc was one of the nicest guys I’ve known.  Though we lost touch with each other over the years, I still thought of him often when we talk about growing up in our neighborhood. I had the fortunate opportunity of knowing Marc through his son Alex. The first time I met Marc (and Valerie) he (they) was so unbelievably welcoming. Always offering their fridge to young hungry college kids and the couch as an opportunity to relax. Among the things I learned while interacting with Marc: 

1) How to love a child -- Marc's most proud accomplishment is Alex. He always made sure to say something when Alex would break- away to the other room or a different convo. 

2)  How to love a spouse -- They say you can see the love of someone by those who survive them, and this spoke true to all things Marc did. You can tell he has a genuine love for Valerie. 

He also taught us random facts such as the National Anthem used to not be applauded; always ask for your receipt to make sure Sonic didn't double charge; and kindness goes a long way. 

May you rest in peace with Valerie, Marc. Thank you for being the epitome of a good human.

Marc was one of my closest child hood friends , my deepest sympathy goes out to his son Alex and his family he will be deeply missed and prayers go out for his soul.  Your good friend Bruce Henry
