Dorothy graduated from Oakland High in January, 1956 and played the clarinet and lettered in band. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and bingo. She was also a cosmetologist and part owner of the Park It Here Tavern; and secretary and co-owner, along with her husband of 43 years, of numerous commercial fishing boats in Alaska. Dorothy and Louis were married by Mr. & Mrs. Claus in North Pole, AK in 1969. Dorothy and her husband Louis were adventurous driving the Alcan highway to Alaska where they lived for several years before returning to Seattle and later settling in Sedro-Woolley.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Louis E. Olson; daughter, Bonnie and Chris Kartes-all of Buckeye, AZ; son, Doug and Joann Bowen of Shoreline; son, Tom and Lisa Bowen of Anacortes; Paul and Cheryl Olson of Sedro-Woolley; grandchildren, Andy, Chloe, Conner, Kaleigh, Lizzie, and Talon.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice of the Valley.
