David Isom Couser

David spent his formative years in Tullahoma, TN where he graduated from Tullahoma High School. After graduation, David went on to join the United States Navy following in his father’s footsteps. During his time in the Navy, he met the love of his life Ann. They knew each other three days and were wed in the summer of 1972. Together, they welcomed his beloved daughter Mandy in 1976 and three years later, his son Joe.

The four of them spent the following years living life to the fullest, enjoying each moment with each other. During this time, David was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree. In the fall of 1990, David retired from the United States Navy after 20 years and 5 days of faithful and dedicated service to his country.

In the years that followed, David continued to work and enjoy life. Moreover, he loved spending time with his two greatest blessings; his grandchildren, Brycen and Jameson. They would go fishing, shooting, he talk about life and tried to instill life lessons that they will carry on his legacy.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Bess. He is survived by his (Wife) Ann Couser, (Children) Amanda and John McClaskey, Joseph Couser, Amy Couser, and Jamie Gruner, (Grandchildren) Brycen and Jameson Couser.

A visitation for David will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, Arizona 85338. A burial will occur Friday, April 18, 2025 at 9:00 AM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
