Cupit, William "Bill" G. 78, of Goodyear, AZ, born in Beaumont, Texas on October19, 1933, passed away peacefully at home on November3, 2011 with his family at his side. He attended Beaumont High School, Lamar University, and received his masters at Stephen F. Austin University. He married his college sweetheart, Charla Mouton, in 1955 and they raised 3 children. He moved his young family to Hawaii in 1965. Bill was a teacher, counselor, and vice-principal at various schools in Texas, Guam, and Hawaii. He retired after 21 years as principal of Barbers Point Elementary School in Hawaii. In 1986 Bill was honored as the National Distinguished Principal of Hawaii. In 1990 Bill and Charla retired to Arizona, and eventually settled in the Pebblecreek Community in Goodyear. He enjoyed creating and teaching art, golf, and traveling the world. Bill was dearly loved by family and friends and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his wife Charla, children Syndie, Denise (Scott), and Johnny (Lisa), 4 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren, and siblings Billy, Judy, Pat, and Kathy.
Funeral mass will be held Friday, November 11, at 10 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Avondale. Neptune Society is in charge of arrangements.
