Carol J. Ray

Carol J. Ray, 73, of Buckeye died March 23, 2012.  Carol was born on December 29, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois.  She attended schools in Gerard and Litchfield, IL where she met her husband and father of her three children while attending Litchfield High School.  Carol and her sons moved to Arizona in 1974 where she worked as a teacher’s aide in the math departments at Maryvale and Aqua Frea (now Milleneum) High Schools and finished her career in the reading department. Carol retired after serving the youth in the community of Buckeye in 1999.  She enjoyed helping others and being an active founder and member of her church.

Carol is survived by two brothers, Larry Roach and wife Ruth Ann, of Peoria, Illinois and Howard (Mike) Roach and wife Patti, Anaheim, CA.  Former husand and dear friend, Darol (Buzz) Ray of Buckeye, AZ, a daughter, Debra Ray f/k/a Hills of Ashmore, Illinois and two sons, Rickey Ray of Elk, Washington and Timothy Ray of Buckeye, Arizona.  Seven grandchildren: Rachel, Gabriel, Richard, Phylisha, Brandyn, Camryn, Kaitlynn and three great-granddaughters.  Carol also leaves much loved relatives, countless devoted friends and former students.

A memorial service will be held Sat., 4/07 at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S.Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ.
