Barbara Blancke

Barbara “Barb” Blancke, 67, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away August 25, 2011 in Goodyear.  She was born February 1, 1944 in Stowe, OH.  Barb was an LPN and she worked diligently all over Arizona and in Mexico taking care of babies, both as a career and through Admiration for children. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was her passion. She was a nurse for Maricopa County Hospital, Hacienda De Los Angeles and for Los Niños Hospital, among others. She had the opportunity several times to travel to the Hopi Reservation in northern Arizona to deliver babies. Barb would help anybody and she loved kids.

Barbara is survived by her husband Al, her daughter Kim, her sons Ronald, John, Rick, and James, sisters Mary, Stella, and Dorey, brother Butch, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation for Barb is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 5:00 pm at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ, with the service to begin at 7:00pm.
