Barbara Alice McCombs

Barbara Alice McCombs, 68, of Buckeye, AZ passed away June 16, 2016 in Goodyear, AZ. She was born November 7, 1947 in Nampa, ID to Kenneth Albert James and Violet Valentine James.  Barbara served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1968, raised four kids and was the toughest woman. She held an associate’s degree in accounting.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was always there for her 8 grandkids and 3 great-grandkids.  She was also a certified gopher hunter and an all around amazing woman.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Eldon; two daughters, Lynette Rose and Sandra Bell; two sons, Thomas and Kenneth McCombs; mother, Violet Valentine James; sister, Marlene Luchtenberg; brother, Daniel James; eight grandchildren, Mike, Kaylee, Stephanie, Nicole, Dustin, Ashley, JT, and Matt; and three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Anastasia and Xander.  She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Albert James.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ.
