William Henry Batey - age 82, passed away Thursday December 22, 2011. Born in Nashville, Tennessee Saturday February 9, 1929 to the late James and Maude Pope Batey, he is preceded in death by his wife Alice Marie Batey; sister Clara Batey and brother Johnny Batey.
Mr. Batey, a veteran of the US Air Force serving in Korea, receiving the Korean Service Medal, U. N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal; is survived by his daughter Sharon (Ralph) Crary; sister Minnie Mae McMahon; brothers Floyd Batey and Herman Batey.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Tuesday December 27, 2011 in the chapel at Forest Lawn. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation to remember Mr. Bates on Monday December 26, 2011 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Goodlettsville, TN.
