SMITH, Walter Abram, age 82 passed away October 3, 2011 with his daughters and son-in-law by his side. Preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nellie Smith and his beloved wife Glenda. Survived by 2 daughters, Mona (Bob) Anderson, Debbie Lamberth; 5 grandchildren, Misty (Nathan) Ashby, Heather (Randy) Goins, Gary Lamberth Jr., Amy (Jason) Fryer and Keri (Nick) Harville; 6 great-grandchildren, Austin, Chase, Cody, Brodie, Brylie, Ava and soon to arrive Jackson. Survived by sister Tommy Rhea Smith and brother Jerry (Gayle) Smith, nieces and nephews; also adopted daughter Sherri DeRoos who was also his cheering partner for the LSU Tigers. Walter was raised in Bude, MS and was so proud of where he came from. He moved to Nashville in 1968 to start a music publishing company with his brother Jerry. Walter and Glenda loved to travel and see the world together. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimers Association. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 7 at 10:00 am, with visitation Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at 1:00 pm in Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, Pegram, TN.
