He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sammie and Terry Huffines; grandson and his family, Christopher, Leah, and Evan James Huffines; sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Thurman Harris; sister-in-law, Louise Loveless. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Tiny Mae Brown; parents, RC and Ruby (Belcher) Brown.
Many different things brought enjoyment to Sam, such as, watching soperas and the game show network with his wife, Tiny Mae, riding his 69 Harley, and watching Alabama football. He can also be remembered that he was loyal to any waitress that served him in a restaurant, he would always make sure that if he took you to eat with him, to introduce you to the restaurant staff and make you feel like family. He loved to put as much butter on his steak that it would hold - it would make it "extra good". He was a member of the Neely's Bend Church of Christ.
