Born to the late Charles and Ruth (Reid) Rountree in Nashville, TN, Bob is also preceded in death by his wife Sara; his brother Charles Rountree, Jr. and his sister Sara Bolton. He is survived by his daughter Cindy Fletcher (Phil) of Athens, TN; step-son Lee Green (Chris) of Portland, TN; granddaughters Leah Brown (Travis) of Hartsville, TN and Laura Ayers (Dylan) of Murfreesboro, TN; (4) great-grandsons; many nieces, nephews and other beloved family and dear friends.
Bob served his country in the United States Army before retiring from AT&T at an early age. Upon his retirement, Bob enjoyed many camping trips and beach vacations. He was a member of the American Legion and a previous post commander for his local VFW.
A member of the “Telephone Pioneers Camping Club”, Bob eventually purchased a motor home and spent much of his time travelling cross-country. He followed TN Vols college football, faithfully and never missed an opportunity to travel to their games. A beautiful day would call Bob to the greens for a nice round of golf. He was outgoing, happy and he made friends easily. Dedicated to his family, Bob will dearly be missed.
A graveside service for Bob Rountree will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 beginning 11:00 AM at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, 353 E Main St., Hendersonville, TN 37075.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Bob Rountree to a selected charity of choice.
