He is preceded in death by his parents, William Hall and Elizabeth Shannon (Reagin) Brewington; sister, Betty Vaden.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He was an alumni of the Isaac Litton High School where he played basketball. He attended college at Belmont University and UT Knoxville. He was a Christian man who loved and served God, family and country. During his life, he achieved many accomplishments, including, but not limited to, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church where he was instrumental in the building of the Family Life Center. He was a member of the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church for over 40 years, for the last 16 years a member at the Hermitage United Methodist Church. As a former member of the Nashville Board of Realtors, Bob was president of Brewington & Co., where he sold and developed commercial real estate in Middle Tennessee for over 40 years. He also served his community on the Hendersonville Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeal, and on the Board of Directors at Sumner Academy.
He was a member of the Jere Baxter Masonic Lodge 32 degree Mason and a Shriner.
Bob enjoyed sailing, had a passion for Corvettes, UT Vols football, and loved his wife Nancy’s southern cooking, especially coconut cake.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy (Jones) Brewington; daughter, Deborah Lynn Hughes; son, Bob Brewington II, (Nancy Ann); grandchildren, Sadler Bartula(Denisse), Reagin Hughes, Robbie Brewington III, Kara Sykes(Richard), Tedesa Owens; great-grandchildren, Asher, Rocky, Caliana, Tisaak, Tiona, Tenia, Ryleigh; brother, W.T. Brewington(Jeanne.) He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hermitage United Methodist Church or Alive Hospice in Bob’s honor.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a celebration of life memorial service at 1:00 pm. Military honors will be rendered following the service at the Nashville National Cemetery.
