Patricia (Trish) Godwin Wooten, 69, took the hand of her Lord and Savior on September 22, 2012 and entered into eternal life. She was born on July 5, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia and was a graduate of Norview High School. Trish was the daughter of the late Robert Meerman and Catherine V. Holloway.
Trish was a gifted crafter. She could do most anything from sewing, painting, (very talented), scrapbooking, jewelry maker and also teaching folk art painting. Trish loved being with people and was a friend to everyone she met. She was like a child when it came to Christmas; she loved decorating her home with all the treasures that had been accumulated along the way. She enjoyed cooking for her family and making sure everything was just right. While she lived in Albany, New York she was an active member of and Co-Queen of the Colonie Red Hat Society Chapter. She was both the co-founder, in 2004, and the Co-Queen of this new Chapter for the entire 4 years that she was there. Trish was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 16 yrs. Dr. Michael D. Wooten; daughters, Dana A. Godwin and Suzanne D. Riggs and husband Joe; granddaughters, Katie Hatcher and husband Kris, Mallory and Emily Riggs and great-grandson, Mason Hatcher and a host of loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 24, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Dickerson Road in Goodlettsville, TN from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Trish will be taken to Greenville, North Carolina for a funeral service to be held on Thursday, September 27th, 2012 at 2:00 PM, with visitation Thursday from 12:30 – 1:45 PM in Wilkerson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sara Cannon Cancer Center or the Vanderbilt Breast Center.
