Mildred "Millie" Edison Stanfield, age 91, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Millie was born in Nashville, Tennessee Sunday, August 20, 1933 to the late George W. and Willie Lou Edison. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Pete Stanfield in 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Aguirre (Tucker): grandchildren T.C. Aguirre and Charlene Wheeler; brother Rod Edison (Dora); sister Helen Whitfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Millie moved to Fernandina Beach, FL to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Prior to moving to Fernandina Beach Millie and Pete loved to travel to Europe, Hawaii, Bahamas, eating out, visiting different casinos and watching NASCAR Races together at home. After moving to Fernandina Beach she was a weekly BINGO player at the American Legion. Millie was in the dental industry working for 50 years for Dr. Joe B Wright and Dr. Mark Warden.
Family and friends will gather to remember Millie at a visitation Monday, December 9, 2024 from 11:00 until 2:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 S. Dickerson Pike, Goodlettsville, Tennessee. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 in the Garden of The Last Supper at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
