Jo Ann Mahoney

Jo Ann was born on March 11, 1957 in Portland, OR to Rafael and Helen Romo. As a daughter growing up in a military family, she, her six siblings, and Bam Bam travelled and lived all across the United States and oversees. As a kid, Jo Ann was funny, strong willed, independent, stubborn, persuasive, and the quiet leader of sibling pranks. She spent her high school years in Zaragoza, Spain and graduated from Zaragoza High School in 1975. She came back to the states and years later, after having her son, Cisco Gilmore, and daughter, Christina Folger, Jo Ann started working at American Airlines, where she later met her love, Dennis Mahoney, and in June of 1990 they were married. She loved the airlines and spent several years as a fleet service clerk for various airlines and later a flight attendant for American, which she was most thrilled about. She spent her adult life striving to be a great wife, mother, and faithful servant to God. She found purpose and joy by helping others, specifically by leading and teaching women bible studies and mentoring the younger women in her church. She was a prayer warrior, a strong believer in Christ, always saw the best in people, and her faith was evident by her graceful kind-hearted, loving approach to life. She loved to travel and spend time with family and expressed her creative side through crafting and interior design. Her life was complete when she became a grandmother, in which she was the best.

The reception will be held on September 30, from 2pm-8pm and October 1, from 10pm-12pm. The funeral service will be on October 1, from 12pm-1pm.
