Jesse was an outstanding musician and a member of the Kingsbury High School band in Memphis, TN from 1969-1973. He joined the United States Army in 1974 where he served in “Pershing’s Own” Army band based in Washington D.C. for six years.
Jesse loved taking his family to the lake where they saved turtles to later release them back. He was an excellent tuba player and played as often as he could. He also loved to be riding or working on one of his motorcycles or bicycles.
Jesse loved going to the tracks, photographing, and train watching. His father and grandfather both worked for the railroad.
Jesse enjoyed going to the gun range. He was such a loving spirit that once a deer came up to keep him company while he was shooting. He loved to be in nature and take in all of God’s glory. He appreciated every sunrise, sunset, and thunderstorm. Storm watching with their Daddy will always be a special memory for his girls. He especially loved the mountains and lighthouses.
Jesse was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN, where he served as a deacon. Any time the church doors were open, he would be there. He never missed an opportunity to share his testimony. His prayers for all the members did not cease outside the church house. He was especially fond of his pastor, Brother Brian Johnson.
Jesse will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
