JD Stephens Sr.

James Donald Stephens, age 84, of Madison, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. JD was born on November 19, 1939 in Bloomington, Illinois. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Velma Irene Stephens and Donald Leroy Stephens, and granddaughter Tiffany Abernathy. He is survived by wife of 65 years, Peggy Anne (Harshaw) Stephens, his sisters Margie (Stephens) Bland, Donna (Stephens) Driggs (Bob), and brothers Ronald Stephens (Mary), Leroy Stephens, David Stephens (Neva), his favorite daughter Jamie Irene (Stephens) Abernathy of Donelson, son James Donald Stephens Jr of Murfreesboro (Cindy), son Troy Donahue Stephens (Sandra) of Bellshire, along with grandsons Wesley Stephens (Lindsey), Caleb Abernathy (Kim) and Wade Stephens, twelve great grandchildren, lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was a Navy veteran and he retired from Exxon after thirty-five years at the age of fifty five as operations manager.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on the following day, Wednesday, July 24th at 10:00 am to 11:00 am and the memorial service will commence at 11:00 am with ministers Rev. Wesley Stephens and Rev. Ron Becton.

JD Stephens will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Navy honors.

The pallbearers are Wade Stephens, Wesley Stephens, Caleb Abernathy, Jerry Clark, Harold Harshaw Jr., and Travis Davenport.
