James Clay Wakefield, age 26, passed away suddenly Sunday, April 18, 2021. James was born Thursday, December 22, 1994 in Nashville; his brother, Brandon Garrison, grandfathers, Steven C. Wakefield, Sr. and Jim Hammers, precede him in death.
A lineman, James graduated from Jo Byrns High class of 2013 in Cedar Hill, Tennessee. He was caring and loving, was goofy and loved to make you laugh; he also loved to play his guitar, football, pool, the outdoors and sports shooting, fishing and hunting.
James is survived by his son, Cole Wakefield; daughter, Waverly Wakefield; father, Steve Wakefield, Jr.; mother, Nell Hammers; step-mother, Kim Wakefield; brothers, Chase Wakefield and Derick Roberson; grandmothers, Martha Wakefield, Marion Hammers, Linda Garrison; aunts, Melissa McComb, Teresa Troutt, Balena Raines; uncle, Brandon Wakefield; and many cousins.
