James Sory "Jimmy" Edgen, age 82, passed away suddenly Friday, April 30, 2021. Jimmy was born Wednesday, December 21, 1938 in Adams, Tennessee and is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Virginia Corbin Edgen and brother, Billy Edgen; sister, Betsye Vaughn.
He loved his mother and looked up to his brother. At eighteen, Jimmy joined the Marine Corps (once a Marine, always a Marine) he was a member of the Masons and 33rd Degree Scottish Rite. He work as a wrecker driver for 35 years and in the safety section of the business. After retiring he and Debbie loved to travel on short trips.
Jimmy enjoyed camping and going out on the boat; his hobbies were leather work and making things with wood and metals; going to car shows and mowing the yard. Sitting on the patio enjoying his early morning coffee watching the deer. He started helping a group of "Dream Makers" that worked with children with cancer.
Jimmy met and married Debbie Edgen, his wife of 43 years, along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Regina Edgen Norvell, Brandy Edgen Willis, Adam Ray Edgen; seven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Corinda Edgen.
A celebration of life will be conducted 12:00 Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Corinda Edgen officiating. Burial with Marine Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will gather to remember Jimmy at a visitation Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 10:00 with a Masonic Service by Claiborne Lodge 293 at 11:45 before the 12:00 service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Pike Goodlettsville, Tennessee
