BRINKLEY, James D. (J.D.) “ Doc”, 90 of Goodlettsville, April 4, 2011. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home with his beloved dog Lucy at his side. He was a veteran of WWII and a retiree’ of the United Methodist Publishing House. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Eula Brinkley and his brothers, Gerald and Wilford. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Sarah Locke Brinkley and daughter, Linda Brinkley who were by his side til the end. He is also survived by his son, David (Lucretia) Brinkley of Gallatin, two grandchildren; Christin (David) Ayre of Gallatin and Justin Brinkley of Cookville; great-grandson, Connor Ayre of Gallatin; sister, Dorthea Roaden of White House and brother, Wayne Brinkley of Dallas, TX. Honorary pallbearers will be the retirees of UMPH. Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 7, 2:00 PM at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville, TN with visitation Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, and Thursday one hour prior to service at the church. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
