Smith, Dortha Jean ("Dottie"), age 87 passed away on March 14, 2011, in Columbia, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl Smith, and siblings; Squib Camplin, Ann Ybarra, and Bill Camplin. She is survived by daughters, Donna Staggs and Tamera Spivey, and siblings, Paul Camplin and Emma Nell Cartwright. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Todd Staggs, Ryan Staggs, Ashley Nowlen, and Laura Beth Tedder, as well as eleven great-grandchildren; Rick Lackey, Lauren Lackey, Hutson Staggs, Sydnie Nowlen, Alice Staggs, Christian Staggs, Diane Tedder, Katie Nowlen, Sofia Staggs, Carson Tedder, and Audrey Nowlen.Dottie grew up in Beech Creek, KY and lived over 48 years in Jacksonville, FL. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" in the WWII years, a licensed Cosmetologist by trade, and loved caring for children as a Nanny in her later years. She was an active member of the Dean Road church of Christ in Jacksonville, FL. Visitation will be Thursday, March 17 from 1-3 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
