Donald Leon Talbert

Donald Leon Talbert, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on December 28, 1950, in Clarksville, TN, to parents Donald Eugene Talbert and Mary Frances Hay.

Don was a loving husband, supportive father, and devoted grandfather. His family and friends remember him as a generous man—someone who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was always ready to lend a hand, whether tackling home improvement projects, ensuring others’ needs were met, or stepping up to join the East Nashville clean-up crew in 1998 when a tornado struck the area. In his spare time, Don enjoyed being in his garage, getting his hands dirty as he worked on his many project cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary, and his nephew, Jeff Howden.

Don is survived by his faithful wife of 55 years, Ann Talbert, whom he married when they were just 18 years old; his son, Chris (Holly) Talbert; his grandchildren, Emily and Grayson Talbert; his sister, Sharon Howden; and his niece, Amy Howden, along with her three children—Brice, Olivia, and Mia Howden.

A service to honor Don’s life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
