Charles H. Steele

Charles H. Steele, age 82, of Joelton, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born on Saturday, August 24, 1940 in the old St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his beautiful mother Charlie and his father Harry Eugene Steele, as well as his son Charles Kurt Steele.

Chuck as he was known by family and friends is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years Karlon “Corkey” Steele, daughter Leslie Steele and son Ethan, daughter Meredith Renae Steele (keith) and son Tyler, daughter Elizabeth Steele (Steven) and her children Aidan and Ender, son Michael Steele, his wife Heather and children Dallin and Bradley, son Matthew Steele (Tonya), and grandson Phillip Steele (Hellina) and his son Jackson. Two brothers and three sisters in Tennessee, Texas and Georgia

Chuck was an incredibly talented and creative man whose career spanned many fields of expertise. A military veteran, Chuck was also an accomplished DJ on several top radio stations spanning Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi, a sales manager for WKRN, he worked under 3 governors, was an in demand electrician with IATSE Union.

Working in TV and stage production in Nashville for more than 2 decades, ran the spotlight at the Grand Ole Opry for many years and was on a first name basis with many of the entertainers. He enjoyed working with actors in Broadway plays at TPAC. He also had a plethora of hobbies and interests including anything technology related, was a great wit, intellectual, writer, lover of poetry, movies, and music and was a Ham radio operator for years.

A visitation for Charles will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.

Following the visitation will be a graveside at 1:00 PM in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Pallbearers will be, Philip Steele, Michael Steele, Matthew Steele, Ethan Steele, Dallin Steele, Tyler Bishop.
