Born in Nashville, TN on December 9, 1942, Charles was raised by Hooper and Audra Pursley in a very loving household. He attended David Lipscomb High School and University prior to his career of being an instrumental figure in the Nashville automotive and trucking industry. Charles loved cars, babies and telling jokes. Most of all, he loved his family dearly and was very proud of them.
Charles is preceded in death by Charles Hooper Pursley, Hooper Pursley, Audra Pursley, Bessie Pursley, and Louise Pursley. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Pursley; daughter Tammy McClung (Jimmy); son Charles W Pursley, Jr (Tina); daughter Bridget Vanier (Rex); grandchildren Erica Hamblen (Dustin), Kelsey Whitney (Chris), Hannah Brantley (Tyler) and Brad McClung (Anna) and great grandchildren Jonah Terry, Piper Terry, Aubrey Brantley, Lilliam-Kate Brantley, Teigen Brantley, Delilah Whitney, Reece Hamblen and Elle Hamblen (due June 2023).

Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, March 5th, 2023 from 12pm until the time of the Memorial service, officiated by Alex Shoulders, beginning at 2pm, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Charles W. Pursley, Sr. to Alive Hospice or the Parkinson's Foundation.
