

Billy Dean Hayes was born March 30, 1931 at Waverly, Tennessee. He passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at Madison, Tennessee. He was 79 years of age. Billy was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Agnes Tomlinson Starks Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Maxey Ray Starks and Everett Lee Starks; his parents Warner and Lucille Hayes; his sister Dot Hickerson. Billy is survived by his daughter Patricia Starks; sisters, Gladys and Louise Moore; grandchildren, Amber (Russ) Anderson, Adam (Ashley) Ellithorpe, Chris Starks, Kenny (Misty) Starks; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Anderson, Alex and Layla Starks, Ashton Ellithorpe, Eric and Makenzie Ellithorpe. A U.S Army Veteran, Billy served our country during the Korean War at which time he was awarded three medals of honor. He was a member of Avondale Baptist Church. Before retiring, Billy drove for Columbia Motor and Service Transport. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Billy's life 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7th at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, with Bro. Rusty Fennell and Bro. Larry Martindale officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Russ Anderson, Adam Ellithorpe, KennyStarks, Chris Starks, Alex Starks, Ronnie Moore and Gary Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Daniel, Henry Tittle and Kevin Tittle. The family of Billy Hayes wish to acknowledge Dr. Rodney Lewis, Bro. Dennis Smith, Sean, Ginger, Barb, Lavonda and Margaret for their special and loving care to Billy.
