Shane Michael King, 48 years old and a life-long resident of Ascension Parish, rode his bike to the Lord early morning on June 4, 2022. He was the owner and operator of King’s Pest Control for the past 13 years. Shane is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hilbert and Melba Young; and his paternal grandparents, William Alver and Ruby King. He is survived by his loving parents, Lionel and Sandy King; his brother, Kenny King; and his sister, Bridget King Ponzo; his sister-in-law, Emily King; and his brother in law, Michael Ponzo. Shane also has two nephews, Chance Ponzo and Logan King; and one niece, Samantha Ponzo, who loved and looked up to their uncle every day. He is also survived by his best friend and supporter, Rachel King Robert. Shane will also dearly be missed by all his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shane was tragically taken from our sides while riding his beloved motorcycle. His quick-wit, signature bandanas and larger-than-life personality blessed Shane to be loved by all who met him. He held a special relationship with all his customers where he often stayed and visited with them speaking of politics, family, and sometimes helping to do an odd job. His sarcastic humor, big smile and kind heart never failed to endear him to all. The loss of Shane has left a large hole in all our hearts and taken much of the laughter from our lives. He will forever be remembered, talked about, and loved. He has escaped this tumultuous world and is resting in peace in his Savior’s arms now. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the foundation Tunnel to Towers, an organization’s work that Shane respected. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4PM-7PM with a Celebration of Shane’s Life beginning at 7PM. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the King family.
