Sara Rosa Cattaneo passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 70. She is survived by her husband Dr. Guillermo Segundo Ferreyra, her daughter Dr. Jessica Ann Ferreyra, her husband James Patteson Thomas and her grandchildren Aidan Joseph Thomas and Ethan Henry Thomas. She is also survived by her siblings Marta, Rodolfo, Victor, and Daniel and a host of family members and friends. Sara was very accomplished in her years. She received her bachelor's in high school math teaching and her bachelor's from LSU in computer science. Sara programmed the first B2B electronic fund transfer. Sara had a special place in her heart when it came to helping children, helping both troubled teens as well as special needs children. She also taught PSR for 15 years. Sara was always involved in the community and in charitable events. She was the president of her HOA and was a member of the Hispanic Club in Baton Rouge and of the Dean's Circle of the LSU College of Science. In her later years in life, she became a real estate agent, which was more of a joy than it was a job. But above all, she loved being a wife, mother, and Nona. Her family was a huge part of her life. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
