Ruthella "Tut" (Guitreau) Thibeau

"Mother- the secret keeper, your friend, a peace keeper, your teacher, and an angel." Ruthella "Tut" Guitreau Thibeau, 85, a beloved resident of Prairieville, LA, and native of French Settlement, LA, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family. Tut's journey began in French Settlement, where she graduated from French Settlement High School. She held many different roles throughout her life, notably serving as a former Security National Insurance Agent and secretary for the esteemed former Senator Joseph A. Sevario. However, her most cherished role was undoubtedly being a stay-at-home mom to her children and a doting grandmother to her numerous grandchildren. Tut's life was a testament to love and joy. She found immense pleasure in cooking, nurturing her garden of flowers, indulging in retail therapy, cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, and spoiling her cat, Little Girl. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lisa Villeneuve, Lenny Gremillion (Rodney), Dana Guedry (Glen), and her son, Brett Thibeau Sr (Cindy). Tut's legacy also lives on through her ten grandchildren, Dustin Capell, Chet Villeneuve (Krystal), Chase Guedry (Sarah), Kalyn Edward (Blaine), Chelsey Capell, Cole Villeneuve, Brett Thibeau Jr, Brady Thibeau, Brian Gremillion (April), and Jeff Gremillion (Kristen), along with her 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Richard St. Pierre (Judy), and sister-in-law, Carolyn Hanna (Don). Tut is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Jerry Thibeau, her son-in-law, C.J. Villeneuve, her parents, Elda Luke Guitreau and Ada Aydell Guitreau, her grandson, Cade Villeneuve, and her siblings, Barbara Lambert, Ruby Gonzales, Ethel Guitreau, Audrey St. Pierre, Luke Guitreau, and Alvin Guitreau. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation for Tut on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, located at 42021 Highway 621, Gonzales, LA 70737. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at 12:00 PM at Carpenter's Chapel Cemetery, 17121 Carpenter's Chapel Rd, Prairieville, LA. Dustin Capell, Chet Villeneuve, Chase Guedry, Cole Villeneuve, Brett Thibeau Jr, and Brady Thibeau have been chosen as pallbearers to honor Tut's memory. Additionally, Peyton Haydel, Kade Villeneuve, Gavyn Guedry, Dylan Capell-Gremillion, and Ryder Edward will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Gift bearers for the Mass will be Haylee Guedry, Rylee Guedry, Ava Montague, Kinzley Villeneuve, and Ainsley Edward. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Tut's dedicated caregiver, Rita Cannon and granddaughter, Chelsey Capell, and the compassionate staff at St. Joseph's Hospice for their unwavering support and care during her final days.
