In Loving Memory of Ronald “Joe” Waguespack. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband and father, Joe Waguespack, on December 28, 2023. Joe left this world surrounded by the love of his family and friends, at the age of 76. Joe was born on May 13, 1947 in Gonzales and grew up with a zest for life that would become his hallmark. He was a man of warmth, kindness, and an infectious sense of humor that touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A devoted husband, Joe was the loving spouse of Darla, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. His commitment to family was unwavering, and his role as a father was central to his identity. Joe's children, Toby (Chantel) and Heath (Anne), Rachael (Darryl) Savario, Renni (John) Diez and grandchildren Sammy, Olivia, Caleb, Sydney, Ava, Parker, and Adalyn, were his greatest source of pride and joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love and life lessons that will endure through the generations. He is also survived by his siblings, Eileen (Sammy) Decoteau, Linda (Jeff) Wiley, Patty (Jack) Cannon, Gloria Wiley, Gary Waguespack, Richard (Marion) Waguespack, and Robert Waguespack; sister in laws, Judy Waguespack (wife to Hickley Jr) and Linda Waguespack (wife to James). He is preceded in death by his parents, Hickley Waguespack Sr. and Ealia Waguespack; and siblings, Hickley Waguespack Jr, James Waguespack and Gerald Waguespack. Joe had a natural gift for bringing joy to those around him. His humor was a beacon of light in both ordinary and challenging times. Whether through a witty remark or a funny story Joe had a way of lifting spirits and creating an atmosphere of joy. His energy was infectious, and his quick wit could turn any moment into a celebration. In addition to his playful side, Joe was a pillar of strength and support for his family and friends. He faced life's challenges with resilience and courage, inspiring those around him to persevere in the face of adversity. His positive outlook on life was a source of comfort to many, and his wisdom served as a guiding light for those who sought his counsel. Joe's love extended beyond his immediate family to include a wide circle of friends who became like family. His generosity, kindness, and genuine concern for others created bonds that were unbreakable. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Outside of family and friends, Joe was passionate about his work, community and country. He met countless life-long friends through his work in banking and at Farm Bureau Insurance Co. He was heavily involved in community functions namely Gonzales City Council, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, United Way and the Little Theatre. He was also a proud member of the Army National Guard. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 9am-11am. A celebration of Joe's life will take place at 11am. Committal service will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery in Prairieville. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice in Joe's name. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, let us remember the love, laughter, and joy he brought into our lives. May his spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and may the memories of his warmth and humor bring comfort during this difficult time. Rest in peace, dear Joe. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
